About the New Zealand Property Investors Federation (NZPIF)
At the core of the NZPIF’s mission is the commitment to advocate, support, and educate property investors across New Zealand.
Together, we can create a property investment industry that is financially rewarding, socially responsible, and respected.
We aim to:
- Advocate for Fair Policies: NZPIF engages with government bodies to influence policies and regulations impacting residential property investment. Through lobbying and media engagement, we ensure property investors’ interests are represented at decision-making levels.
- Education: Our online Rentskills program, local Association events, and annual national Conference equip members with the tools and insights to navigate the rental market. Our goal is to empower investors to make informed decisions and achieve long-term profitability.
- Savings and Benefits: NZPIF negotiates exclusive discounts and benefits for members on essential services and products. These savings offset membership costs and enable members to provide quality housing while maintaining profitability.
- Setting Industry Standards: We promote ethical behaviour and professionalism in property investment. Our Code of Ethics serves as a guiding framework, inspiring high standards of conduct and integrity in all business dealings.
NZPIF Executive team
Peter Ambrose
NZPIF President
Peter Ambrose is a full-time property investor, property coach and property finder. After leaving the corporate world in 2014, Peter continued to grow his “buy and hold” portfolio and specialises in adding value to increase return and equity.
Peter became NZPIF President in 2024. He believes in strong governance and great communication and is a member of the NZ Institute of Directors.
Kathryn Seque-Roche
Vice President & Southern Area Representative
Kathryn is the past president of the Otago PIA, serving as president for 5 years. She started investing in 2010 and won Landlord of the Year in 2016. In 2012, she took on full-time management of the family’s portfolio, mainly managing student rentals in Dunedin. She has recently started doing more development and recently completed a build of nine two-bedroom apartments. Kathryn thoroughly enjoys talking to other investors about their tenancy problems, educating members and advocacy work.
Amanda Watt
Treasurer
Amanda has been part of the NZPIF Executive Committee for more than 15 years. A Chartered Accountant, business owner and property investor since 2000, she brings strong financial knowledge and plenty of hands-on property experience.
Amanda also sits on the Auckland Property Investors Association Executive, keeping her closely connected to the issues investors are facing and bringing that perspective to NZPIF nationally.
Shirley Berryman
Secretary
Shirley and her husband, Kent, have been property investors since the late 1990s, with a focus on building financial independence for retirement. They manage most of their portfolio themselves and have also developed properties in Rolleston.
Shirley is President of the Canterbury Property Investors Association and has spent the past three years as Secretary on the NZPIF Board. She values the knowledge and connections the property investor community has given her and enjoys being able to give back and support other investors.
Daryl Fisher
Northern Area Representative
Daryl Fisher and his wife, Laurel, have been property investors since 1995, building a substantial residential rental portfolio. Daryl joined the Waikato Property Investors Association in 1996 and has held several roles with NZPIF, including Northern Regional Representative and President.
With nearly 30 years of hands-on experience, Daryl remains active in the property market and regularly shares his knowledge with other investors. He is also a life member of the Waikato Property Investors Association.
Kerry Beveridge
Southern Area Representative
Kerry has been investing in property since 2006 and now has around 60 tenancies across houses, flats and three boarding houses. His hands-on approach saw him named NZPIF Landlord of the Year in 2017.
Kerry is President of the South Canterbury Property Investors’ Association and a Southern Area Representative for NZPIF, bringing practical experience and a strong South Island perspective to the Federation.

Tim Horsbrugh
Central Area Representative
Tim and his wife Katherine have been investing in residential property since 2000 with a buy and hold portfolio in the wider Wellington region. Tim has recently retired from corporate life and is now a full time Property Investor. Tim is the past President of the Wairarapa PIA and still serves on the committee.
Sang Cho
Central Area Representative
Sang Cho is an Auckland property investor and business owner with more than 20 years’ experience across residential and commercial property in New Zealand and overseas.
As President of the Auckland Property Investors Association, Sang is focused on practical education, good governance and strong advocacy for property investors. He also brings broad business experience across hospitality and international trade, and is keen to strengthen the connection between local associations and NZPIF nationally.
Suzanne Taylor
Wellington Area Representative
Suzanne Taylor is a Wellington-based property investor with hands-on experience in renovations, subdivisions, infill projects and managing rental properties. She was the 2019 NZPIF/Resene Renovation of the Year winner and now works as a renovation project manager alongside running her home staging business, Best Foot Forward.
Suzanne has been on the Wellington Property Investors Association Committee since 2019 and is now Vice President. She also runs the Wellington Women in Property networking group, helping connect and support women in the property sector.

Maintains governance records, manages Board communications, and ensures compliance with the Incorporated Societies Register.
Regional representatives
Represent the interests of regional Property Investors Associations to the Board, and communicate Board direction back to their regions.
